Hello!

My name is Kiana (she/they) and I am the Chicanx creator and number one maker of Kirc Studio. I started my small business my Junior year of college, a few months after COVID-19 put us all in quarantine. Like most of us, I was stuck at home drowning in my own existential dread and feeling a genuine lack of happiness. I was eager to make things around me more bright and cute, a desperate attempt to make myself happy with something silly and stupid. At the same time, I went from having access to a fully running ceramics studio at school to having to navigate ceramics at home. With little space and no resources, I turned to polymer clay for its accessibility and affordability. I started vending at my local Farmer’s Market and other markets around town and began to gain a positive response and encouragement from locals and my peers at school. This ultimately gave me the courage to fully launch my own small business and expand to an online market. Now, postgrad with a BFA in Ceramics from Texas State University, I am working on expanding my small business and spending lots of time with my life partner, our dogs, and kitty.
